During his fellowship at the Spanish Academy in Rome, the archaeologist Tono Vizcaíno developed a research on the contemporary reception of the classical past. Its aim is to analyse the new languages generated by the confluence of Archeology and mass culture in the 21st century Rome. This confluence is taken as the base of the design concept, mixing ancient and contemporary elements, thus generating a contrast that provides identity to the book. Editorial design, 2021. The proposal was to strength and synthesise the corporate identity of Architecture Doing Place, an architecture and urban design studio from London. The whole identity depends on the logotype, conceived as an architectural element. It works as a system itself that mutates depending on the support and generates different layouts. It was designed to work primarily on the digital medium, reinforcing its functionality as an element of interaction and organization. Client: ARCHITECTURE DOING PLACE. The artist Anaïs Florin carried out a visual and experiential research about El Punt, a documentation center and library specialised in social movements. This book is the materialisation of the process, and is made of the archive documents and the stories of the people belonging to this collective. The design reinforces these two resources through specific graphic languages, and employs this duality as an aesthetic strength. La Retaguardia (2020). Editorial design. The cultural initiative Creixem al Carme was born with the purpose of reinforcing the relationships between the cultural-educational institutions and the families of Valencia's historic centre. The objective was to create a dynamic and youthful graphic identity. The client was provided with a toolkit, composed of an open layout, typography rules, a palette of colours and basic geometric shapes to play with. This book is a guide through the past and the present of one of the most combative neighborhoods of Valencia. It was commissioned by its neighborhood association, and developed with a team of sociologists, anthropologists and historians. Inspired by the imaginary of Spanish social movements of the 70-80's, the design transmits the crudity and the strength of the propaganda made with low resources. SPQR NOW. Los Objetos Decorativos is a brand that focuses on the creation of lifestyle objects. Its creative process consists of a continuous evolution, based on the exploration and incorporation of new materials and techniques to a collection locally produced. Due to its artisanal nature, a simple yet warm corporative identity has been created, relaying on an old serif typeface that reinforces its romantic character. Client: LOS OBJETOS DECORATIVOS.
