La Retaguardia is a choral, visual and experiential story about El Punt — a documentation center and library on social movements. The book draws from the center’s own materials and the stories of the people who make up the group.
The design gives these two sources distinct graphic languages. The experiential narrative uses a warmer, more approachable aesthetic; the archival resources and images go harder — denser, colder, closer to the look of a document than a book. That tension holds the whole thing together.
This book is the tangible outcome of a project by Anaïs Florin, developed within Variaciones sobre el plano — a cycle of public and private actions curated by Ángela Montesinos and Juan Luis Toboso for the IVAM (IVAM produce).
